Hi, my name is Joni Smith and I will be in charge of the lab during our stay in Haiti. I am a registered medical technologist and have been employed at the Det Med Center as a microbiology specialist for the last 20 years. I have a BS in medical Technology and MS degrees in physiology/pharmacology and in Basic Medical sciences. I live in West Bloomfield and am a widow (after 40 yrs of marriage). I have 4 adult children, 3 of which are married and have 2 grandchildren. I have been a member of St Matthews Lutheran Church in Walled Lake since 1978. This is my 5th mission trip and is my first time to Haiti. I am looking forward to this trip.
