Sarah Lucey

Hi, I'm Sarah Lucey and a member of Shepherd's Gate. My life has basically revolved around school for the past too many years. I did my undergrad at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and will be graduating from medical school at Wayne State this upcoming May. I am going into Emergency Medicine and will find out where I "matched" for residency two days before we leave for Haiti! I grew up in a very medical household with my Dad as a pharmacist and my Mom/Sister as nurses, and my Dad has been active in these medical mission trips for as long as I can remember. I grew up popping pills into various containers and stuffing medical supplies into bags late into the night at these packing parties :-) I was finally able to go on my first mission trip to Brazil as a first-year medical student in 2009. Not only did I learn a great deal, but I found it to be extremely rewarding and faith-strengthening. I am excited to go to Haiti with a bit more medical training under my belt and will hopefully be able to contribute more to the Haitians' care. I look forward to getting to know everyone!
